The Dookie district is re-emerging as a wine region after 100 years. Dookie's rich red volcanic soils are some of the oldest in Victoria and are ideally suited to growing premium wine varieties.
Three vineyards in the Dookie area; Tallis Wine, Gentle Annie and Dookie College Wines are beginning to compete with Australia's best.
